While a regualr control bar will provide brake input in the direction of a turn, the "cross-over" rig on this bar greatly amplifies those inputs, resulting in tighter turns.  This is accomplished with the use of pullies in the rig that provide a mechanical advantage to brake inputs caused by bar movements and the changing geometry of the main and brake lines.

A cross-over bar provides nearly the finesse that four-line handles allow for brake turns but with the convenience of a control bar.  

The handle that traverses the brake lines out beyond the bar and pullies is for reverse-launching the kite.

A safety strap is inlcuded that allows you to let go of the bar in an emergency and dump the kite on the rear lines, killing power without losing the kite.

Bar size is 50cm (20").  With the added weight of the pullies in the rig, we recommend not putting this on any kite smaller than 3 square meters.
