These sticks are custom made right here at Coastal Wind Sports for any Peter Lynn Twinskin kite.  They are made of 7075 anodized aluminum just like the OEM sticks from Peter Lynn but are about 1mm or 0.040" smaller in diameter.  They fold down to 38 cm (17") segments (15" for segments, and  5cm or 2" for the extension inserts), just like the originals.  Some sets are about 5 cm or 2" less  in length in order to keep the length of the last short segment from being unworkable such as 1 - 2". 

Our components come from Easton, a well known OEM equipment supplier to the camping industry and US military.

A significant difference however is that we use rounded aluminum end caps, not the plastic inserts with vinyl end caps.  As many ARC fliers have found out, if you crash the kite nose down, the plastic tips that hold the shock cord can push in to the tube, and the tube can cut through the vinyl end cap like a cookie cutter and cut the front of the spar pocket.  Not ours!!  The smooth rounded end-caps (see picture) will stay put and are far less likely to poke through the pocket.

You can use these to replace the carbon fiber sticks used in earlier model ARCs.  The weight is the same as the Peter Lynn aluminum sticks.  Some people say not to use aluminum because it corrodes, but we don't see this as  problem with proper care.  After all, you clean your kite, right?  Just rinse the sticks with clean water and dry when you rinse your kite an they will last a long time.

You may want to know that if you check the tip-to-tip length of our sticks they will come out to be about 2-3mm longer than the chart would indicate.  We measure the length from the shoulder of the curved end cap and not tip-to-tip.  The reason for this is that the rounded end caps fit more efficiently than the blunt end sticks in the spar pocket, so we add a smidge to compensate.

These sticks have become well known as "Angus's famous sticks" and I have shipped these all over the world to Peter Lynn pilots in Asia, Australia and Europe.  Many ARC fliers replace their stock sticks with these right off the bat when they get their new kite.

If your sticks are 114 cm or less, order the "Small" (three-segment) set for $42.00
If your sticks are over 114 cm, order the "Large" (four-segment) set for $50.00
If your sticks are over 152 cm (Charger 19m), order the "Extra Large" (five segment) set for $57.00

After you place your order, send an e-mail to angus "at" coastalwindsports.com with your stick size (or just kite model and size) so that we know what size to make for you.  Allow about 48 hours prior to shipping.

NOTE: we can get original OEM Peter Lynn sticks for you if you like, but prices will be higher and shipping will take longer as these are special order from the Netherlands.  As of Summer 2011,  OEM sticks are available only for Charger and Synergy; others have been discontinued by Peter Lynn Kites
