This safety leash has elastic bungee inside a stout tubular webbing to keep the leash compact and out of the way until deployed.  The high visibility quick release handle is easy to grab and deploy, yet is not going to deploy by any accident we can think of.  Stainless steel teardrop shape carabiner-style snap connectors  at each end keep all connections secured.

It is six feet long stretched and about half that relaxed.

It comes with an allen key wrench that fits the set screws in the stopper balls but there are no adjustments needed there, so go figure.

Coastal Wind Sports highly recommends the use of a leash on all HQ de-power kites, even though they are labeled as having a "leashless safety system".  The fact of the matter is that it is still quite possible to become un-hooked from any kind of chicken loop assembly (it's happened to us and we have seen it happen to others) and the leash is the only way to keep from losing the kite and reduce the chance of injuring someone.  We hook one end to the harness and the other end to the landing handle or one side's brake leader loop.
