This is one of the nicer leashes we have seen.  The leash has a soft, padded stretchy outer cover and a bungee inside that keeps it retracted, tidy and out of the way until deployed.  It relaxed length is 49" or 124 cm, and stretched out it is 65" or 165 cm. 

There is a webbing loop on one end for attaching with  larkshead knot to your harness, and a stainless captive spring clip on the other to attach to the kite safety.  The outer sleeve extends up over the spring clip mechanism to help keep out the sand.  NOTE: This type of clip is best used for the below-the-bar safety attachment, to reduce the chance of snagging a line.

The top-hat safety release is held shut with a bungee to help prevent accidental deployment but is easy enough to move with a smooth motion when needed.
