A pulley spreader bar lets you run a strop (line between the tops of your 4-line handles) through the pulley to take the load off when flying fixed bridle kites. It is especially useful when going upwind, where the pull can be great and tough on the arms. This requires the use of a harness of course and is only advised for experienced rider that understand the risks of flying "hooked in".
The Bullet spreader bar is similar to the classic peter Lynn Swivel Pulley Spreader Bar that is hinged for up and down movement to follow the kite and reduce uncomfortable binding while keeping the strop running smooth as you work the kite. the only functional differences from the old bar is that it does not have the bungee spring to hold the pulley hinge down, and does not have the adjustable down-limit stop.
