This bright orange plastic stake has an easy-to-grip T handle and comes with a fabric sheath.  The sheath has a top retention flap with Velcro closure and Velcro straps for lashing to a buggy front fork or other frame part up to about 6 cm or 2 1/2" in diameter.

The stake is 32 cm or about 12 1/2" long and the flukes of the "+" cross section are 3 cm or 1 1/2" wide.

It has arguably better holding power than the metal pin style of stakes when in softer ground.  Why not carry both in the kite bag just to be ready for anything?
