Sleeving Kit for Kitelines by Vliegerop
|
 |
This kit contains everything you need to...
- Make your own knotted or sewn sleeved loops in the end of your kite lines.
- Repair broken lines with neat splices (no knots).
Each kit contains four lengths of tubular polyester sleeving about 41 cm or 16" long. Two are plain white and two are white and flecked with colored braid so that you can color code your lines for left and right. Also included is a long (20" / 51 cm) needle made of thin music wire that has been doubled over and bound at one end with thin heat-shrink tubing. It can also be used as a fid to splice kite line segments together, but the instructions will warn you that splicing will be difficult on lighter lines such as 40-65 kg..
Note that for sewn loops, you will need a sewing machine with a zig-zag stitch and the skill to use it.
This kit comes to us from our good friends at Vliegerop, BV, in the Hague, Netherlands, the same people that bring us Peter Lynn and Vector products. The illustrated instructions are printed in Dutch, but we provide a separate page with text translated to English with each kit. The kits are available in three thicknesses for different grade lines as follows:
- Thin: 40 - 90 kg (90 - 200 lbs)
- Medium 100 - 200 kg ( 220-440 lbs)
- Thick 200 + kg (440 lbs and over)
